Work Experience

  • 2010 :: PRESENT :: Gravitek Labs :: Drupal theming and some design.
  • 2008 :: 2010 :: Shazamm :: I do web design, drupal theming and development and also some animation. I am responsible for building all HTML templates and CSS from scratch and making sure it works across all browsers. I am also responsible for the JQuery used on our sites.
  • 2007 :: 2008 :: BZ Results :: Is a web marketing company geared towards automobile dealerships across the US and Canada. The product offered is basically a template site with a customizable front end. My responsibilities included designing layouts for new clients as well as doing redesigns for existing clients. My designs had a 'direct influence on the direction of the company', as was said by my manager at my review in April 2008. My designs have influenced my co-workers as well. If you look at all the sites being pushed live today 70% are mine or based off of mine.
  • 2007 :: 2010 :: Pleasure In Pain Tattoos :: In July of 2007 I began a tattoo apprenticeship at this shop, I was in charge of answering phones, dealing with clients, scheduling appointments, sterilizing tubes and general cleaning. I apprenticed for 7 months before receiving my license in early March. Since then I have been working there, doing custom designs and flash work.
  • 2005 :: 2007 :: Amaral Custom Fabrications :: After finishing an internship here I was invited to come work full-time. It was manual labor but rewarding work. I have contributed to the fabrication of various sculptures from artists like Kieth Herring, Roy Lichtenstein, Ryan McGinness and Robert Indiana. I have also been a part of the fabrication of several boats including lightweight Vespoli rowing boats, a 4ft tall usable Mr. Potato Head, the 8ft tall Mr. Potato Head's that are scattered around RI, and the Jonathan Bonner As220 sign with the three pods.

Education

  • 2009 :: Lullabot Training Sessions :: In July of 2009 I attended two Lullabot Drupal training sessions, the first on module development and the second on theming.
  • 2006 :: 2008 :: RISD Continuing Education :: In an effort to refocus my work, I attended two Flash classes and a Javascript class at RISD while building various small websites all in Flash as2.
  • 2002 :: 2005 :: Rhode Island School Of Design :: After surviving the freshman foundation program I went on to study the design and fabrication of Furniture. I have completed several full usable pieces of furniture out of various materials at my time in this department. I participated in two classes abroad, one designing products for Kartell in Italy, and the other studying the furniture designers and art in Tasmania.

Activities

  • Drupal.org :: A contributing member of the Drupal community. Apart from my three contributed themes, I have many more in the works and this site is my own custom theme.
  • Agua :: The first them I created, which is available for free. Its a very basic theme with drop down links and ability to have two sidebars. I currently maintain this project.
  • Grass :: This is the second theme that I created for download on Drupal.org. It utilizes the color module. I currently maintain this project
  • Orange :: This is the third theme that I created for download on Drupal.org. I currently maintain this project

Skills

  • Computer :: Can work efficiently on both PC and Mac platforms, proficient in Photoshop, Flash, and Illustrator. Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS. Intermediate knowledge of JQuery, Drupal Theming and Actionscript 3. Proficient in and prefer to use the following for web development: TextMate and CSSEdit. Basic knowledge of CVS, and SVN.
  • Graphics :: Great eye for design, layout, type, and color. Can create graphics from scratch, vector and non-vector.
  • Other :: Drawing, tattooing, woodworking, metalworking, photography, painting, composites.
